Cranberry Hootycreek
Pancakes
Sarah Lundvall from Ephrata, Pennsylvania, shared this recipe with us. She writes, "We call these 'breakfast cookies,' and my 2-year-old usually gobbles them up faster than I can
make 'em!"
1/2 c. all-purpose 1 t. vanilla extract
flour 3/4 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. quick-cooking 2 T. oil
oats, uncooked 1 egg, beaten
1 T. sugar 1/2 c. white
1 t. baking powder chocolate chips
1/2 t. baking soda 1/2 c. sweetened
1/2 t. salt dried cranberries
In a bowl, mix flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add vanilla, buttermilk, oil and egg; stir until well blended. Stir in white chocolate chips and cranberries. In a large, lightly greased griddle over medium heat, drop batter by 1/4 cupfuls. Cook for about 3 minutes, until tops start to form bubbles. Flip and cook 2 additional minutes, or until both sides are golden. Serves 4.

Farm King is a family-owned chain of 6 stores in Illinois and Iowa with a wide selection of goods in categories such as Housewares, Lawn & Garden, Toys, Clothing, Automotive, Home Decor, Pet and much more! We have been in business since 1959.
How long have you been carrying Gooseberry Patch cookbooks & calendars?
Farm King has stocked Gooseberry Patch cookbooks since 2007. At Farm King, we are serious about Gooseberry Patch! Each store has multiple displays of Gooseberry Patch cookbooks, stocked with both old favorites and fresh new titles. We also run special promotions for Christmas and other holidays. At Ladies' Night events, we have drawings for free Gooseberry Patch books among many other prizes, as well as demonstrations and special promotions.

Which titles are your customers' favorites lately?
Slow-cooker books are always among our customers' favorites, and Rush-Hour Recipes and Fresh from the Farmstand have been among the favorites this year.
Any special events coming soon?
Yes! Our Ladies' Night event is October 4 from 5pm to 8pm, in the Farm King stores in Canton, Illinois, Galesburg, Illinois and West Burlington, Iowa. There will be drawings at each store for over $1000 in prizes, including several Gooseberry Patch cookbooks, Montana Silversmith jewelry, Wrangler clothing, trees, Glidden paint, Donna Sharp bags and quilts, birdfeeders, Farm King gift certificates and lots more! Shoppers will enjoy cake-decorating demos, a talk on planting spring bulbs and several other attractions that will occur throughout the evening.

There will also be great deals on home decor, clothing, jewelry, kitchen products and much more. Plus, with the $2 purchase of a Carhartt bag, they'll get 20% off the products in the bag. Farm King will donate $2 to a local cancer society for every bag that is sold. Be sure to stop by!
