1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. butter
14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk
2 t. vanilla extract
2 c. chopped pecans
1 c. sweetened flaked coconut
20 vanilla caramels, unwrapped
2 T. milk
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Stir together flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles very coarse meal. Press mixture into an ungreased 13"x9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes; remove from oven. Combine condensed milk and vanilla. Pour
evenly over baked crust; sprinkle with pecans and coconut. Bake at
350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes, until filling is set. Set pan on a
wire rack to cool for 10 minutes. Combine caramels and milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook and stir until caramels are melted; drizzle over top. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Cool
completely on a wire rack; cut into small bars. Makes 4 dozen.
