2 T. oil 4-lb. beef brisket 28-oz. can crushed tomatoes 1 c. catsup 3/4 c. brown sugar, packed 1/2 c. balsamic vinegar 1.35-oz. pkg. onion soup mix
Heat oil in a large oven-proof saucepan over medium heat. Brown brisket on both sides; drain. Mix remaining ingredients; pour mixture over brisket. If necessary, add a little water so that brisket is half covered by liquid. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 3 to 4 hours, until tender. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
